The executive producers for The College Track are Martha Fowlkes and Robert Lavelle.
Martha Fowlkes
Martha Fowlkes served as general manager of Blackside, an award-winning independent documentary production company, and since 1989, managed the company’s new project development, fundraising, and promotional activities. For Blackside, she developed major PBS projects including I’ll Make Me a World, Breakthrough: The Changing Face of Science in America, and Hopes on the Horizon, directed campaigns to raise over $30 million, and managed the presenting station relationships. Before coming to Blackside she worked as a fundraising consultant on national productions for WGBH-TV, and served as director of the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, MA.
Robert Lavelle
Before launching Roundtable, Robert Lavelle served as director of new media, education and publishing at Blackside for over 13 years, developing and producing new media (web, CD-ROM, interactive laser disk), books, radio, and extensive national education and outreach projects, in conjunction with award-winning PBS television series. He has received many awards for his work, including the Crystal Award from AECT, “Citation for Service to Democracy” from NABB, and the “Silver Apple Award,” National Educational Media Network. He has served as consultant to dozens of media-related projects in the U.S., Canada, and Africa, and was a senior editor in the trade division of Addison-Wesley, Inc.
