About the Host: Andre Braugher

Award-winning actor Andre Braugher is the host and narrator of The College Track. Star of numerous films, plays and television shows, Braugher is best known for his Emmy Award-winning portrayal of Detective Frank Pembleton on the TV series Homicide: Life on the Street. Braugher performed on stage with the New York Shakespeare Festival in Much Ado About Nothing, King John, and Henry V, for which he received an Obie Award. He also performed at the Joseph Papp's Public Theatre, the Folger Shakespeare Festival, and The Philadelphia Drama Guild.

Braugher has had many notable TV guest appearances, and has both produced and directed many projects. Braugher most recently starred in the acclaimed television series Gideon’s Crossing as Dr. Ben Gideon. His numerous credits include Glory, 10,000 Black Men Named George, for which he also served as executive producer, Better Way To Die, Duets, Frequency, Thick As Thieves, Louisville, City of Angels, Get on the Bus, and Tuskegee Airmen.

Braugher received a B.A. in Theater in 1984 from Stanford University and an M.F.A. in Drama from The Juilliard School four years later. Braugher and his brother were the first in their family to go to college. Both of Braugher’s children currently attend public school.
